Migraine switching sides

Jan:
Karen - - your said, "I have had two or three headaches in the last six months where the pain would switch sides in the middle of the headache. These were really bad migraines, but I found that strange. Has anyone else experienced this? I have never had pain behind my eyes associated with a migraine."

I've had migraines at least most of my life. And it is not unusual for the pain to start on my left side, then seem to be getting better when the right side starts to hurt. If it goes to the back of my head -- that is the only time I can really think straight with a migraine.

I started getting the behind my eye pain in the past year. I find it extremely painful. Bless everyone here who recommended frozen wash clothes and ice packs. The coldness really helps dull the pain.

I guess we each have our own unique headaches. Hope you are well today.

Steve:
Hello,
Some of mine start in behind my right eye. Sometimes they go away and sometimes they switch to the left eye and get much worse. I have tried ice and head. Nothing seem to help. If it gets really really bad, then I take an Imitrex pill. Sometime that doesn't help.

Michele:
Jan,
Sorry, but that was me that said that - not Karen. I am beginning to see from this list that there are a wider variety of migraine symptoms than I realized. My migraines never switched sides until last year and I have had them for more than 20 years. Never had the behind the eye pain either. I guess I am lucky.
